RHYTHM FACTORY DRUM & DANCE LINE
The RHYTHM FACTORY is excited to announce our first annual Rhythm Factory Drum & Dance Line Summer Program. Join us for a wonderful combination of music, movement and team bonding. Members will learn about musical rhythms, instruments, and tonal patterns. They will have fun with singing, dancing, and learning about drums and marching. Members will showcase their skills for their parents and families at the end of the program at our big recital.
This program is designed for ages 6 to 12 years old. The cost of the program is $35 per week.
Program will run from June 6th to August 9th 2022
DRUM LINE
During the camp, students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of rhythm and learning the proper technique on marching percussion instruments. If their skills progress as planned, they will be recommended to audition for the after school competitive drum line. The specific aim of the drum line program is to enable students to communicate effectively through percussion instruments and to understand and value a variety of musical and cultural expressions throughout life. Music reading, writing and theory will be incorporated while each student learns how to play an instrument. Weekly assessments will occur to ensure that students are practicing and steadily building upon their skills.
CAMP OBJECTIVE:
❖ Learn basic skills such as the care of their chosen instrument, proper playing posture, tone production and playing techniques for their instrument.
❖ Learn basic music theory and music vocabulary such as reading and understanding musical notation, rhythms and symbols.
❖ Acquire the skills, abilities, attitudes necessary to express themselves musically as individuals and as members of an ensemble.
❖ Be prepared to audition for a competitive drum line.
❖ Value and appreciate music.
DANCE LINE
During the camp, students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of movement and learning the proper technique on marching and dance performance. If their skills progress as planned, they will be recommended to audition for the after school competitive dance line. The specific aim of the dance line program is to enable students to communicate effectively through movement and to understand and value a variety of dance and cultural expressions throughout life. Weekly assessments will occur to ensure that students are practicing and steadily building upon their skills.
CAMP OBJECTIVE:
❖ Demonstrate simple phrases of movement in time and space.
❖ Improvise movement to music
❖ Acquire the skills, abilities, attitudes necessary to express themselves with dance as individuals and as members of an ensemble.
❖ Be prepared to audition for a competitive dance line.
❖ Demonstrate appropriate etiquette at a dance performance
